INEC Chairman Prof. Yakubu Charges Staff to Uphold Integrity in Edo Governorship Election

With the Edo State Governorship election just around the corner, INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has urged staff to maintain the highest standards of integrity and diligence in their work. Speaking at a meeting with staff in Edo State on Thursday, Prof. Yakubu emphasized that any actions compromising the election’s integrity would have severe consequences.
Despite expressing satisfaction with the level of preparedness, Prof. Yakubu cautioned staff to ensure efficient logistics management and prompt opening of polling units. He also warned against compromising the integrity of election materials, emphasizing that they must not fall into the wrong hands.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Edo State, Dr. Anugbum Onuoha, praised the INEC Chairman for his support and encouragement. He urged staff to reaffirm their commitment to the Commission, their oath of neutrality, and their service to the country, while resisting temptations from desperate politicians.
