INEC Announces Schedule for Rivers State Bye-Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced February 21, 2026, as the date for bye-elections into Ahoada East II and Khana II State Constituencies in Rivers State.

The elections are necessitated by the resignation of the Ahoada East II member and the death of the Khana II member. The Commission has released a timetable and schedule of activities, including:

– Publication of election notice: January 22, 2026
– Party primaries and dispute resolution: January 23-27, 2026
– Campaign period: February 8-19, 2026
– Election day: February 21, 2026
