The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria Dr. Usra Hendra Harahap commissioned a mosque he built for Misbahul ‘Islamic school Kurudu in Abuja on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
In his remarks the Retired General and Diplomat noted that inauguration of the mosque is a series of activities celebrating the 77th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022.
He also said, “This mosque is a symbol of people-to-people contact. Relations between two people are one of the pillars of the second track diplomacy.
The relations between countries could be ups and downs, but the relations between people will always be eternal. The relations between people will always continue and exist.
“Therefore, by establishment of this mosque could be a milestone for the relationship between the people of Indonesia and Nigeria.

Dr Harahap who also used the forum to celebrate his 62nd birthday anniversary encouraged religious tolerance between the two major religions in the country and called for continued strengthening of Nigeria – Indonesia relationship.
Addressing Journalists, he said the donation of the Mosque was to appreciate God for what they have achieved in life.
“We decided to build the mosque here on request to help the students and the people because the existing mosque is far from here. It will help also help to build tolerance and integrate the community.
“We came here to share our happiness with what Allah has given to us. Me and my family especially my wife, decided to sell half of our property to achieve this. ”
Speaking, Nazeef Ahmed Shuaibu, Director of the school expressed satisfaction and said Ambassador Usra built the place of worship for the students in appreciation to what Allah has made him to achieve.
