IMO SA DIASPORA MEETS SA PENSION ON DIASPORA PENSIONERS

The issue of Pension payment has been a fragile one, with several stories being shared across the social media platforms, on whether or not pensions are being paid. Amidst the furore, one message has remained clear and uncompromised; that is the fact that Senator Hope Uzodinma is committed to paying pensions to legitimate pensioners and determined to automate payment to ensure that in the near future, all payments will be precise, weeding out leeches who have perennially undermined the economic system of Imo State.
Imo Pensioners in the Diaspora haven’t been left out in the discussion, as several of them have contacted the Imo Diaspora Office. The latest cohort being from America. In their letter, they commended the good work the Governor has begun in Imo State and asked for the possibility of e-capturing for those pensioners not domicile in the country. Our reporters were told that today the 7th of September, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, Hon Celia Osakwe- Hibbert delivered the letter from the cohort of American based Imo pensioners requesting e-capturing. The Special Adviser on Diaspora, also had an exhaustive meeting with the Special Adviser on Pensions, in the person of Group Captain Pat Okibede (First Female Group Captain from Imo and Abia State respectively).
In this meeting, the SA pensions assured Hon. Celia (SA DIASPORA) that “the present Government is committed to capturing every Imo pensioner and will be very thorough in doing so. I’m a pensioner myself, who have part lived in America, so I understand the challenges and with my experience, I’ll go above and beyond to ensure that no genuine pensioner is left behind” she emphasized.
