Honourable Minister of Power, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu has assured Katsina State Elders’ Forum of quick completion of Power Projects which he attributed its delay to criminality and insurgency which are clogs in the wheel of progress of the Power sector.

Assistant Director, Press of the Ministry, Engr Ali made these statements when the Katsina State Elders’ forum paid him a visit today, 22nd November, 2021 in his Office.

Abubakar expressed the determination of the Buhari’s Administration to revamp all sectors of the economy, particularly the Power sector while stating that vandalised turbines of the 10KW wind farm project in Katsina slowed down the completion of the project. He said since his assumption of duty as Minister, he has directed commencement of work on the project to meet the 18th of December proposed date of commissioning.

While appealing to Katsina elders’ for prayers to support the present administration in its effort to improve the economy, he pleaded for change of attitudes of Nigerians, stating that brotherliness, oneness is the panacea for development.

Speaking earlier, Ag. Chairman, Katsina State elders’ forum, Senator Abba Ali Turaki congratulated the Minister on his elevation as a senior Minister. He said the forum is concerned with the development of Katsina State and was on a follow up meeting on pending issues as regards power projects yet to be completed.

Butressing on the importance of Power for development and job creation in the state, Ali said they are more interested in the completion and commissioning of the 330kva power project meant to supply electricity to Katsina State and its environs and the wind farm project at Lambar Rimi. He further said that the Forum was confident on the early completion of the projects owing to the trajectory of achievement of the Honourable Minister before his assumption of office as Minister of Power.
