The NIgerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has released a notuice on high temperature Outlook for today and tomorrow.

Parts of Niger, Kwara, Ondo, Edo, Kogi, Enugu and Anambra are expected to record temperatures greater than 40°C. Also, bra are expected to record temperatures greater than Parts of Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, FCT, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa and Borno are expected to experience temperatures greater than 35°C and less than 40°C. The entire inland states of the south are expected to be in the same temperature range.

Parts of Niger, Kwara, Ondo, Edo, Kogi, Enugu and Anambra are expected to record temperatures greater than 40°C. Similarly, bra are expected to record temperatures greater than Parts of Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, FCT, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Taraba and Adamawa are expected to experience temperatures greater than 35°C and less than 40°C. The southern states (except Lagos) are expected to have temperatures greater than 35°C and less than 40°C.

Advisories on how to cope and stay safe in extreme heat:
Drinking of plenty water to prevent dehydration
Avoid leaving humans or animals in the car, especially young children
It is best to stay in the shade such as trees if you have to wait outside
Wear light and bright clothing, avoid wearing dark colours.
