Governor Radda Urges Support for Needy During Ramadan

Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda has called on the affluent members of society to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate, emphasizing the importance of sacrificial giving during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking at the launch of the eighth distribution of the Gwagware Annual Ramadan Package, Governor Radda reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting widows, orphans, the elderly, and other vulnerable members of society since its inception in 2016.

The foundation, known for its dedication to charitable causes, has earmarked resources for the distribution of essential items, including 510 bags of rice, 340 bags of maize, four thousand sets of Sallah clothes, and 361 sets of uniforms for orphans across the state.

Governor Radda urged those tasked with distribution to uphold fairness and integrity in the allocation process. He also encouraged fellow Muslims to utilize the Ramadan period for spiritual reflection and fervent prayers for peace and tranquility in the state.

Acknowledging the contributions of individuals toward the construction of the foundation’s permanent office complex, Governor Radda expressed gratitude to all donors for their generosity and support.

In a pledge of further commitment, Alhaji Bilya Sanda, Chairman of the occasion and patron of the foundation, announced plans for the construction of a mosque within the foundation’s headquarters complex.

Yusuf Aliyu Musawa, Chairman of the Gwagware Foundation, commended Governor Radda for his exemplary leadership, particularly in championing policies aimed at supporting the vulnerable in society, such as the formation of the Community Security Watch Corps and the establishment of the foundation.

Notable figures in attendance, including the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, Commander of the Kano Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daudawa, and Chairman of the Katsina State Zakat and Waqaf Commission, Dr. Ahmed Musa Filin Samji, lauded Governor Radda’s compassionate policies and initiatives.

The event featured the laying of the foundation for six training classrooms and the presentation of awards to individuals who contributed to the success of the Gwagware Foundation and the construction of its office complex.
