It was an eventful Saturday in the Premier League as Arsenal dropped points, Manchester United had a comeback win and Brighton were stunned.

United made to sweat it out by Forest

The time was three minutes and forty-seven when Nottingham Forest were two goals up against Manchester United at Old Trafford making it the earliest they’ve ever trailed by two goals in a Premier League game.

Taiwo Awoniyi opened the score sheet when Forest turned defense to attack for the Nigerian to score on the counter. Meaning he has now scored in each of his last seven Premier League appearances making him only the third African player to score in seven successive Premier League games, after Emmanuel Adebayor and Mohammed Salah.

Things got worse for United as Willy Boly made it two from the set piece. The Red Devil pulled one back courtesy of Christian Ericsson as he tapped in from a Marcus Rashford cross.

The equalizer came from Casemiro who ended a well worked combination between Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.

United had a man advantage after Forest skipper, Joe Worrall brought down Fernandes to earn him his matching orders before United got the victory from the penalty as Fernandes capped a man of the match display with a goal.

Arsenal drop points against Fulham

Arsenal played out a 2 all draw against fellow London-side Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

Fulham took the lead via Andreas Pereira who caught Aaron Ramsdale from the distance. The Gunners drew level from the penalty spot which Bukayo Saka converted.

Things took a twist as the home side took the lead through Eddie Nketiah and then had a man advantage after Fulham defender Calvin Bassey saw red.

Mikel Arteta’s side couldn’t capitalize on their numerical advantage as Joao Palhinha restored parity and see Arsenal drop their first point of the season.

Spurs win at Bournemouth

James Madison and Dejan Kulusevki both scored to give Tottenham Hotspur a 2 nil win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Madison benefitted from a sleek move with saw him score before Kulusevki secured things for Ange Postecoglou side and take them to second position.

Brighton stunned by tactical West Ham

No one saw this coming. West Ham United executed their game plan perfectly to deliver a humiliating defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Goals from James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio was all the Hammers needed to beat the Seagulls.

Alphonso Areola was superb in goal for West Ham as he made some very good stops to preserve his side’s advantage.

Pascal Gross low effort found the far corner to give the Seagulls a consolation but David Moyes’ men defended well to stave a late surge and get the win that took them to the top of the log.

Mbappé fires PSG to first win of the season

Kylian Mbappe snatched a brace to help Paris St-Germain beat Lens and claim their first Ligue 1 win of the season.

The forward who’s future has been subject of speculation amidst persistent interests from Real Madrid made his first start of the season.

Marco Asensio scored a curling effort to put PSG ahead on the stroke of half-time before Mbappé scored twice to make it three nil. Morgan Guilavogui then got what proved to be a consolation for Lens very late in the game.

Serie A: Milan ruthless as Roma loses

AC Milan put up a ruthless attacking display at the San Siro yesterday as they thrashed Torino 4-1.
Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic scored for the second game in a row with Giroud getting a brace for the Rossoneri.

Theo Hernandez also got on the score sheet for Milan while Perr Schuurs’ earlier goal for Torino was only a consolation. Milan’s victory took them to the top of the pile.

As Roma lost to ten men Hellas Verona yesterday. Goals from Ondrej Duda and Cyril Ngonge were enough to hand a first league defeat for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Houssem-Eddine Aouar pulled one back for Roma and they couldn’t get another despite Verona finishing the game with ten men.

La Liga: Sevilla winless in new season

Sevilla yesterday lost to Girona FC by two goals to one and continue to abysmal start to the season.

The Europa league champions are winless this season after playing three games already.

Yangel Herrera and Nemanja Gudelj both scored for Girona with Sevilla getting their goal through Aleix García.
The result means that the Andalusian side are now bottom of the table

Talking transfers

Nathan Tella has joined Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen from Southampton FC for £20m.

The 24-year-old forward who scored 19 goals for Burnley while on loan last season signed a five-year deal with the German club.

Chelsea signs Petrovic

Djordje Petrovic has joined Chelsea FC from Major League Soccer side, New England Revolution for £12.5m plus £1.5m in add-ons.

The 23-year-old Serbian goalkeeper will be competing with Robert Sanchez for the number one spot at Stamford Bridge.
