FOOTBALL: Arsenal beat Palace in first Premier League game as Chelsea snatch Cucurella

Arsenal FC recorded an impressive start to the 2022/23 Premier League season as they beat fellow London club, Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park.

The Gunners’ scored the first goal in the 20th minute after Gabriel Martinelli headed from close range after new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko’s headed assist.

Arsenal got the second goal late in the second half after Bukayo Saka’s fierce cross met the head of Palace defender, Marc Guehi who turned it unfortunately into his own net to give the Gunners a fantastic start to the season.

In the latest transfer stories, Chelsea Football Club have acquired the services of Spanish left back, Marc Cucurella from Brighton in a deal worth more than £60m.

The 24 year old leaves the Seagulls after just one season after joining Spanish giants, FC Barcelona last year.

It has been a busy window for the Blues as they already signed England forward Raheem Sterling from Manchester City for £50m, Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli for £34m and midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa for £20m.
