FG to implement 2018 FOCAC initiative, Foreign Minister says

The federal government has assured the Chinese government of implementing the 2018 Forum for China African Cooperation FOCAC initiative in order to improve the existing China-Nigeria relationship and also create more opportunities for Nigerians.
Hajiya Khadija Abba-Ibrahim,Minister of state, foreign Affairs,stated this on 29th October 2018 alongside the Assistant Foreign Minister and Co-Chair of the Chinese follow up committee on FOCAC, Chen Xiaodong.
She described FOCAC as a framework to strengthen Nigeria-China relationship and promise Nigerian’s commitment in implementing the eight major initiative of 2018 FOCAC summit.
“We do assure you of Nigeria’s cooperation and support for FOCAC the present Nigeria’s government commitment to improving the economy, combating corruption and improving security” she stated.
She further commended the Chinese government for sending a delegation to follow up the discussion made at the FOCAC in order to ensure it’s implementation as soon as possible.
In his remark the Chinese minister Chen Xiaoping noted that the main purpose of his visit to Nigeria is to follow up the initiative discussion between Nigerians and China.
