FAAN MD seeks cooperation of AON, AOC to improve services at airports

The managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu on Thursday sought the cooperation and support of Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and Airline Operating Committee (AOC) to improve services at the nation’s airports.

Yadudu who made the appeal at a meeting held with the two bodies at the agency’s headquarters in Lagos said AON and AOC “are primary stakeholders of the Authority which informed engaging you first among numerous others.

He assured them that the new FAAN management will be open to advice and constructive criticisms.

Harping on effective collaborations, Yadudu promised to  concentrate on delivering structured, time-bound, sustainable and improved services to all stakeholders.

“FAAN is already taking bold steps in addressing gaps in our processes and procedures by collaborating with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), through its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme,” he added.

He requested the associations to nominate two members to work in a committee that will be constituted soon.

He said the representatives would work alongside FAAN officials to drive the delivery of improved services at the airports.

Responding, the chairman of AON, Capt. Nogie Meggison, congratulated Yadudu on his appointment as managing director and pledged the support and cooperation of airline operators to grow the airports.

who attended the meeting included the chairman of Med-View Airline, Mr. Muneer Bankole, chairman Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, managing director of Overland Airway, Capt. Edward Boyo, station manager of British Airways, Mrs. Adetoun Odejinmi, among others.

From the FAAN management, the directors of engineering services, Mr. Salisu Daura, finance and accounts, Mrs. Nike Aboderin, human resources, Mr. Honorius Anozie, security services, Rtd Group Capt. Usman Sadiq, airport operations, Mrs. Jumoke Oni, and legal services, Dr. Clifford Omozeghian were also present.
