Ex-SUBEB Boss escapes assassination attempt

Reports reaching News Dot Africa has it that the Former Chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB in Cross River State, Hon. Omaga Odo has escaped a kidnapping along Calabar-Ogoja Highway in Cross River State.

We gathered that Odo, who was travelling from Calabar on Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2022, at Uyanga in Akamkpa Local Government Area of the State was attacked by hoodlums who shot at him severally.

The Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) he was travelling in was shot severally as he managed to escape without much hurt.

Recall that 9 persons were kidnapped on that same failed portion of the road by the rubber plantation at Uyanga which the Police later rescued.

Also, a foreigner escaped being kidnapped as a similar incident that happened to Odo befell him.
