EDO GUBER ELECTION: INEC publishes personal data of Candidates, paste list in LGAs

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has Saturday published the personal particulars of all candidates vying for the position of Governor in September, 2024 off cycle governorship election in Edo State.
Seventeen out of the 18 Political Parties that conducted their primaries met the deadline of uploading their candidates particulars on the INEC Portal, which automatically shut down by 6.00pm on Sunday, March 24.
Information made available at INEC X handle stated: “In compliance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, and as indicated in our press statement dated Wednesday 27th March, 2024, the Commission today, 30th March, 2024, pasted the personal particulars – Form EC9- and other credentials of governorship candidates and their deputies nominated by 17 political parties at the INEC headquarters in Edo State including all the I8 Local Government Offices”.
The list of the political parties are as follows: All progressives Congress (APC); Labour Party (LP); People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
Others are, Africa Democratic Congress (ADC); New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP); Young Progressive Party (TPP); Accord Party; Allied Peoples Movement (APM); Action Democratic Party (ADP); Action Peoples Party (APP) and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
The message on its X handle also said that, any party (ies) who may wish to withdraw or replace its candidate, have up to April 15, to do so as the final list of candidates will be publish on April 23rd. While campaign is expected to official commence the following day.
It also informed the civil society, individuals and the general public to scrutinize the personal data of those candidates and report to the commission if there is anything before the date of the final list would be published.
