DIASPORAS ARE MAJOR PLAYERS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERA- SA IMO DIASPORA

The Special Adviser on Diaspora to the Imo State Governor, Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert has said that Diasporas are major players in socioeconomic development of cities and villages in Nigeria.

Hon Celia stated this in her keynote address in Transcorp Hilton today in Abuja, at an exclusive book launch event endorsed by Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister; the highly respected book is titled ‘Nigeria and Her Diaspora authored by Dr. John C. George.

Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert is the IMO state Focal Officer in the capacity of Special Adviser to the IMO State government on Diaspora Affairs and represented the Governor who was elated that Dr John George is from IMO State.

She said that Imo State has surely embraced the Diaspora Agenda under the 3R Administration spearheaded by Senator Hope Uzodimma the Governor of Imo State.

The book launch was well attend by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission staff, Diplomats, and Diasporas who logged in online.
