Dabiri-Erewa Backs Nigeria-Saudi Investment Summit, Seeks Stronger Economic Partnership

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described the forthcoming Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit as a strategic platform for strengthening investment and economic relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking through the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, at a pre-event media conference held at NiDCOM headquarters in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa said the second edition of the summit would address prevailing misconceptions about investment opportunities, examine existing challenges, and unlock new prospects in both countries.
The summit, themed “The Misconceptions, Challenges, and Opportunities in Investing in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria Today,” is expected to bring together investors, policymakers, businesses, and other stakeholders to deepen bilateral economic cooperation.
Dabiri-Erewa recalled the success of the maiden edition held in 2019, which attracted more than 30 Saudi companies, noting that this year’s event is expected to further enhance investment visibility and foster stronger business partnerships between the two nations.
She commended the organisers, Al Yaro International Limited, for their sustained efforts in promoting investment opportunities and facilitating business linkages between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Also speaking, Hon. Abdulrahman Terab, Head of Department, Technology Transfer, Innovation and Investment, said the exhibition had been carefully designed to provide participants with a clearer understanding of the investment climate in both countries while encouraging meaningful business collaborations.
According to him, although Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed longstanding diplomatic, cultural and socio-economic relations, there is a need to translate those ties into stronger economic and commercial partnerships.
Terab said participants would have the opportunity to explore investment opportunities across key sectors including real estate, agriculture, technology transfer, trade, and tourism, urging Nigerians and other stakeholders to participate actively in the summit.
One of the organisers, Mr. Muhammed Umar Yaro, announced that the two-day exhibition will take place on August 4 and 5, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
He said the summit aims to unlock investment opportunities and provide a platform for policymakers, investors, and business leaders to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria-Saudi Arabia trade and investment relations.
Yaro disclosed that the event is expected to attract over 100 exhibitors, 5,000 visitors, and showcase opportunities across 20 investment sectors, including energy, agriculture, real estate, tourism, and manufacturing.
He encouraged interested participants to register through the official summit portal, manafieexpo.com to participate in discussions on investment opportunities, challenges, and future prospects.
Yaro also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and NiDCOM for their continued support, expressing optimism that the second edition of the exhibition would deliver greater impact.
The exhibition is organised by Al Yaro International Company in collaboration with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Almanafie, the Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, Saudi Arabia (ANDiSA), and Suruh Alhijaz.
