Cross River State Journalists Forum (CROSSJOF), Abuja branch has extended it’s warm congratulations to His Excellency, Ambassador Chief Soni Abang on his recent appointment as the Executive Director, Finance, of the South South Development Commission (SSDC).
In a statement by the acting secretary of the association, Mr. Raphael Ekpang, the association described the appointment of Amb. Abang as a well-deserved recognition of his vast experience in administration, diplomacy, and leadership, noting that his progression from a local government chairman to the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later became Nigeria’s Ambassador to Mali was a statement of his character as a leader.
The acting chairman of CROSSJOF, Mrs Franscica Ogar said, “we are not surprised at Amb. Soni Abang’s appointment because we know and believe that he has the capacity and ability to deliver on his mandate because he has done it before and we hope he will do it even better this time around.”
She continues, “We know your appointment will be a blessing not only to Cross River State, the South South region but Nigeria as a whole. Therefore, we congratulate you once again and wish you all the best in your new found job.”
CROSSJOF also expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, for the appointment-stressing that Cross River State is reclaiming her position in Tinubu’s administration after the incidents of the sack of Beta Edu as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction and the redeployment of Senator John Owan Enoh from the Ministry of Sports .
