COMRADE USHIE FROWNS AT KILLING DURING PRIMARIES AT OBUDU

The Chairman , Cross River State Journalists Forum. (CROSSJOF), Comrade Ignatius Ushie has expressed displeasure over the killing of a security officer during the conduct of the People Democratic Party primaries election for Obudu, Bekwarra Obanlikwu Federal constituency.

He described as ‘uncalled for, the killing of a Police Officer who was discharging his official duty’ and called on the security operatives to swing into action to bring the perpetrators to book. This, he said ‘will serve as deterrent to those who would want to continue in the evil and demonic act’.

He said politics should be played without bitterness and bloodshed and further urged political office holders to coordinate their supporters, eschew violence and pursue peace with all sincerity.

Obudu, Bekwarra Obanlikwu is a peaceful place and that peace should be sustained by all irrespective of political àffiliations.

Comrade Ushie, commiserated with the family of late Martins Mbang and requested that all parties should remain calm while government investigates the matter and bring the culprits to book.

He called on all Cross State indigines in the business of politics to ensure they engage in issue based politicking for the over all interest of peace and unity of the State
