CLEEN Foundation has been on regular part of holding methodology workshops and reviews of its mission: To promote public safety, security and justice through empirical research, legislative advocacy, demonstration programmes and publications, in partnership with government, civil society and the private sector.

As part of efforts achieving this, CLEEN Foundation held a Medothology Workshop for the Assessment of the Nigeria Police Force on Friday, September 28 at Abuja.

In an interview with the Executive Director, CLEEN Foundation, Comrade Gad Peter, he said the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), now respond quickly and has improved in the follow up on Officers and men of the police. Noting the current Inspector General of the NPF, Alkali Baba Usman has sanctioned and dismissed more police for Indiscipline and other  offences.

Gad also advised the public to to read the Nigeria Police Act 2020 to know their rights and what is expected of the NPF

Speaking, Professor Etannibi Alemika,  noted that if the Government on the laws on ground does not have the trust of the people, police will not also enjoy the trust of the public. “the Government has to get it’s policies right.

About the Nigeria Police Act 2020:

This Act repeals the Police Act Cap. P19, Laws of the Federation, 2004 and enacts the Nigeria Police Act, 2020 to provide for a more effective and well organised Police Force driven by the principles of transparency and accountability in its operations and management of its resources.
