Captain Modey gets CROSSJOF Award for Contribution to human capital development

In recognition of his contributions towards empowering youths and elderly for self reliance, the Cross River Journalists Forum (CROSSJOF), on Thursday, 28 November, 2019 honoured Captain Hart Modey with an award for his contribution to Human capital development.

Receiving the award on behalf of his brother, Mr Francis Modey said that Hart is a kindhearted, skilled and courteous to both young and old.

“Chief Hart is a man driven by love, he identifies with the down trodden in the society, as he has faced similar challenges growing up. It grieves his heart seeing people suffer as a result of hardship, lack of jobs, hunger and social vices.

“It is this passion that drives him to those neglected by the society, those who are unable to benefit from the government such as the widows, orphans, under-privilege. These form part of the motive for his demonstration of love for the society by way of training and engaging the youths and empowering the Elderly for self-reliance” he said.

He noted that there were many more things he has done that has earned him several awards and titles by several organizations, both home and in Diaspora, which has gotten him the name “Masters of the 7sea.”

Mr Modey congratulated CROSSJOF on the maiden award ceremony, urged them to dig deep into other categories of kind hearted persons from Cross River State in subsequent awards.

Capt Modey is a Sailor, Investor, Philanthropist, Humanitarian and Principal founder of Capt. Hart Modey’s Foundation, Emmadoug paint and other endeavours. He is a Nautical Scientist by training and holds a PhD in Marine Management and a Consultant with over 20 years of multi skilled experience in the marine industry.

Also honored were the Minister of State Power, Goddy Jeddy Agba in recognition of his strides in the oil sector, Barrister Mary Ekpere-Eta, the DG National Center for Women Development, and the Director of Road Transport and Mass Transit Administration of the Federal Ministry of Transportation.

Cross River Journalists Forum is a platform for journalists of Cross River extraction from various media houses based in Abuja and is working towards enhancing growth and development in the state.
