BANGLADESH HIGH COMMISSIONER VISITS NIGERIAN MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS

….. urged for opening of a resident Mission in Dhaka

H.E. Mr. Md. Shameem Ahsan, High Commissioner has visited Amb. Zubairu Dada, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs recently. During the farewell meeting, the High Commissioner highlighted on the growing bilateral relationship and on the impressive successes Bangladesh is making in all fronts under the stewardship of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The State Minister lauded the achievements of Bangladesh while stressing on further strengthening bilateral relationship. Amb. Zubairu Dada expressed deep satisfaction for the release of the Commemorative Stamp by the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST). to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman which was unveiled by the Hon’ble Foreign Ministers of the two countries, recent signing of the MoU on bilateral consultations (FOC) between the two Foreign Ministries and MoU between the FBCCI (Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries) & its Nigerian counterpart NACCIMA (Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture), among others.

The outgoing High Commissioner thanked the Nigerian Government for the all-out support he received during his tenure while urging the State Minister for opening of a resident Mission of Nigeria in Dhaka. In reply,

Amb. Zubairu Dada told that he considered the matter seriously and assured him to take up with the highest authorities.

Later, the High Commissioner handed over a copy of the Mission’s recent publication to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Mr. Bidosh Chandra Barman, First Secretary of the Mission accompanied the High Commissioner.
