Asibong takes step to end GBV in coordinating meeting with Stakeholders.

The Cross River State Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Dr. Inyang Asibong on Friday, November 18 2022 held a coordinating meeting of the Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and the Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Calabar, Nigeria.

The exercise was held to present the templates and annual status reports of the various coordinating units of the Ministry of International Development Cooperation (MIDC), CUSO International, Development Partners and Volunteers in the state.

Briefing stakeholders at the function, Dr Asibong explained that the mission is to chart a course for stakeholders and partners involved in the various layers of implementation of the sexual exploitation and abuse, gender based violence and all forms of aggression against women and the girl child in the state.

According to the MIDC Boss, gender based violence and sexual exploitation and abuse is a grave violation of our collective responsibility to protect people affected by the crises and the present Administration in the State has been firmly committed to the fight to eradicate this menace.

The stakeholders gathering which held at the conference room of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Calabar, also featured a questions and answers session, briefings, year-end meet and greet and other progressive inputs for the phases ahead.
