APC Unveils Campaign Council Ahead Of Osun Governorship Election

PThe All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a National Campaign Council to lead its bid to reclaim the Osun State Government House in the August 15 governorship election.
In a press statement issued on Sunday and signed by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, CON, the party named Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of the council.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as co-chairmen.
Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, was appointed Secretary of the council, while the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari, will serve as Deputy Chairman.
According to the notice signed by National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the council draws membership from “eminent party leaders, governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state legislators, and other key stakeholders drawn from across the country.12 sub-committees constituted

To coordinate operations, the APC also set up 12 specialized sub-committees covering Election Planning and Management; Finance and Resource Mobilisation; Contact, Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation; Logistics and Campaign Management; Monitoring and Compliance; Protocol; Media and Publicity; Security; Youth Mobilisation; Special Interest Mobilisation for Persons with Disabilities; Women’s Mobilisation; and Secretariat functions.
Party officials said the structure is designed to ensure “seamless coordination and effective execution of campaign activities” ahead of the poll.
Inauguration scheduled for Tuesday
The National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 12:00 noon at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
The August 15 election is expected to be one of the first major off-cycle tests for the ruling party since the 2023 general elections.
