APC lauds Sen Enor’s decision to withdraw case
Emmanuel Alfred
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State has expressed an unwavering and heartfelt thanks to Senator John Owan Enoh for the decision to withdraw his case in the Supreme Court against Senator Prince Bassey Otu.
This was contained in a release signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Erasmus Ekpang and made public on Friday, December 30, 2022.
Recall that Sen. John Owan Enoh in exhibiting his constitutional right to a fair hearing and justice had sought the courts to challenge the outcome of the Gubernatorial Primary Election which saw the emergence of Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and had been dissatisfied with both judgments of the Federal High Court and Court of Appeal and had proceeded the case to the Supreme Court which was indeed a welcome development in a Democratic Party system we maintain in the APC.
It added that the Party heartily and cheerfully applauds and salute Distinguished Senator Owan Enoh for this huge sacrifice in the interest of peace, growth and victory of the Party.
“We received with much delight the press statement from Sen. John Owan Enoh on the end of the legal tussle for the governorship ticket of the APC for the 2023 Election. We are glad that the Distinguished Senator withdrew from the legal battle which of course had initially plunged our great Party into a fragmented and factionalized Party.”
“We sincerely thank Sen. Enoh for showing his maturity and utmost understanding by burying the hatchet and coming together for the interest of the Party. It is indeed a great feat for the Party as all factions will be bridged towards a resounding victory in 2023.
The Party also expresses its appreciation for the swift and fatherly unification approach by the Party’s Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in resolving the issue and bringing the legal tussle to an end. Asiwaju is indeed a peacemaker and unifier. In the same vain, we thank our leader and the digital Governor of our dear State, His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade CON for facilitating the process of this unification.
This is undoubtedly in line with the PLUG mantra of State Chairman and the Political Evangelist, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, which he always preaches about Peace, Love, Unity and Growth as truly the hallway to painstaking success in life and this has been abundantly made manifest as always in our dealings which has brought great results.
We therefore thank all the Party Stakeholders, elders and every Party faithful who have in one way or the other fostered this great unification as all seemingly obviously hurdles are being cleared daily for the back to South project to become a reality come 2023.
Just like the democratic Party that we are, the leadership of the Party reassures all its members of total unity, love and justice for all as we match triumphantly to victory in 2023 General election from top to bottom.”
