APBPI Sensitizes Youths On Drug Abuse

Advocacy For Positive Behavioral Patterns Initiative (APBPI) in collaboration with FCT Social Development Secretariat (SDC) has held her second edition of youth sensitization and campaign against drug addiction and violence.
The event which witnessed dignitaries and other agencies on drug abuse and violence and participants from different secondary schools in Abuja was held at the Cyprian Ekwensi centre for Arts and culture,Abuja On the 21 may, 2019.
The chairman, Advocacy For Positive Behavioral Patterns Initiative(APBPI). Mr.  Mann Bamide, in his speech, raised the alarm on the increasing rate of drug addicts and how addiction is ruining the path of progress of many promising youths and the nation as a whole. He encouraged every youth to be positive and always do the right thing.
Mr.  Labbo G. Sulaiman, PSO DDR National Drug Law Enforcement Agencie (NDLEA), FCT command spoke on the mental effect of drugs on human, most especially the youth.
In an interview session, the Chairman Welfare, Social Development Secretariat (SDC) Mr.  Adeyemi Tijani agreed to the fact that 40 percent of youths are into drug abuse.  He further clarified emphasized that drug abuse now is not like the convention where there is abuse of marijuana and other substances but rather common pharmacy drugs are now abused.
The participants were encouraged to talk to their friends and other people on drug abuse and addiction.
The event had talk show, games, riddles, a short movie, food and drinks.
