Amidst domestic flight cancellations, Nigeria’s Ibom Air mulls International Flights

Not minding flights by incessant cancellations, Ibom Air is set to launch international services between Nigeria and Ghana on October 17, connecting Lagos and Accra with twice-daily flights using the Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft.
Simpleflying.com reports that the airline aims to provide greater flexibility to both business and leisure travelers, highlighting the vibrant markets, live music, historical sites, and beautiful beaches of Accra.
Initially, the CRJ900LR aircraft will be used, but it will be replaced with the larger Airbus A220 when demand grows beyond the capacity of the CRJ900.
About Ibom Air
Nigerian-based Ibom Air was founded in 2019 and is owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government. The airline commenced commercial operations in June 2019 and is currently serving seven destinations within Nigeria. The airline operates a fleet of five Bombardier CRJ900 and has two wet-leased Airbus A320s at its disposal presently.
As the airline makes international debut with Accra to become its eighth destination in the flight network, dealing with ineffective and inefficient domestic flight operations within the domestic route should be paramount.
