Amaechi: Leaked Audio Tape, Ploy to cause diversion, Group says

A Group of Professionals by name Searchlight of Hope Foundation, has risen in defence of Hon Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi, saying that the recently released leaked tape of alleged verbal attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari was a ploy orchestrated by the opposition party to cause disaffection and suspicion among the top hierarchy of the ruling APC.
The Secretary General of the Group,Elder Felix Okoli, said this during an interactive meeting with journalists in Abuja on Sunday.
He said that such a move by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), through one Reno Omokri ,a paid agent, was to create acrimonies in the ruling party with a view to diverting their attention from winning the forthcoming presidential election.
“We know that Amaechi was their main target knowing fully well that an attempt to launch attack on Amaechi is an attempt to distablize the ruling party” he added.
Elder Okoli further explained that the larger than life image of the minister of Transportation and Director General of Buhari Campaign Council is a threat to PDP, insisting that that was the reason for all these mudsligings and distortions of information devised to blackmail him so that there would be mistrust between him and his principal.
”Amaechi we know could not have made such remarks against his boss whom he adored so much and respected.” he opined
According to him the enemies realised the father and son’s relationship existed between them and determined to plant the seeds of discord so as to have their way.
“‘Amaechi is a trusted and tested fellow who has been found to be loyal to a fault and committed to the unity of the country.
“This is a man who sacrificed his life, his family and his people to strengthen his hands across the Niger. He needs our support and commendations not tribulations from any quarters.
Elder Okoli who acknowledged the fact that himself and members of his group have been following the activities of Amaechi while being a DG of Buhari Campaign Organisation in 2015 and his current appointment as Minister of Transportation, he had never been found wanting.
According to him, he discharged his responsibilities with dexterity required .
‘”His achievements as DG in 2015 is what we are seeing and enjoying today and also his story line in the transportation sector in the last three and half years is what we are enjoying in the railway sub sector — early completion of abandoned Abuja /Kaduna railway, modernization and nearly completed Lagos-Abeokuta-lbadan rail modernization projects among others,he added
The Secretary General of Searchlight of Hope Foundation therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari and top hierarchies of the Party to give Amaechi free hands to repeat the same feat he performed in 2015 so that we can bring our president back to power come February 16, 2019.
