Africa Economic Leadership Council Business Conference and Expo coming to Botswana

Gaborone – Africa Economic Leadership Council (AELC), is excited to bring to Botswana a 4-day program on entrepreneurship conference and expo from 11th -12th July 2022 at Fairgrounds Holdings, Gaborone and 14th -15th July at Cresta Marang Gardens in Francistown respectively.

This inaugural expo will be under the theme “Economic Transformation and Great Reset: Advancing through economic growth challenges, Gender and Youth inclusivity for a better Africa post Covid-19 era”. AELC is an exclusive platform bringing together entrepreneurs, policy makers, and business communities to form linkages and access market creation across the African continent.

Minister of Entrepreneurship, Honourable Karabo Gare will grace the event to officially open the conference/expo on the 12th July 2022, at Boipuso Hall-Fairgrounds, in Gaborone.

The four-day program both in Gaborone and Francistown is designed to steer conversations that are aimed at building a self-sufficient African economy. This conference/expo is expected to host a maximum of 200 delegates, including; Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Ambassadors from various countries, delegates from the African countries and other key local and international players.

The Council has so far three Chapters in three different countries; the first chapter was launched on the 5th April 2021 in Windhoek, Namibia. The second chapter was launched on the 5th April 2022, Johannesburg, South Africa; with the third chapter in Gaborone, Botswana on May 3rd 2022, respectively.

Through the business seminars and expos, AELC want to come up with better platforms for entrepreneurs/business organisations and business leaders together to establish business linkages, which a lot of the entrepreneurs would want to do at a continental level.

Speaking about the event, both Co-Founder and President Mr Heinrich Hafeni and Co-Founder and Chairman Percy Koji said, “We have just successfully held the Namibia Business Seminar and Expo in May, and we look forward to a successful engagement with Batswana entrepreneurs and policy makers here in Botswana in the coming weeks as well. Collectively we will contribute to the increase of trade in Africa. Our aim is to double trade in the next five years by working with multisectoral approach. Economic emancipation can be attained through successful collaborations.”

The AELC hopes to shine a light on the Innovators of today and to aspiring businessmen and women of Africa and to provide the much needed guidance which will ensure that the goals are turned into an African reality. To achieve this grand vision, stakeholder support is much needed.

“Through this organization we envision an Africa that is known for transforming its mineral wealth into generational wealth for its entire people, an Africa that is leading ICT innovations, an Africa as forerunner in pharmaceuticals, global food security and a crime free Africa, one that is free of poverty,” added Hafeni.

African leaders have in recent years introduced and driven policies that aim at building strong enterprises to secure our economies but, a lot remains to be done in ensuring that the message that Africa is “open for business”. Having seen what has worked and what has failed, this puts us in a favourable position to render most needed services to entrepreneurs all over the African continent.

With these series of Expos, African young brains will meet to bring African solutions as far as entrepreneurship and market penetration is concerned. They will network and discuss strategies on how to penetrate the African market and turn it into a global trade hub.
