Business Development

The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has applauded the recent ban by Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) on the use of foreign models and voice over artists in the production of advertisement materials for use in Nigeria media space.

Reacting to this pronouncement, the president of EMCOAN, Mrs. Jibe Ologeh stated that the ban is long overdue and it is a right step in the right direction. She further observed that the continued usage of foreign artists is affecting our local talents and stiffening their growth and contributing to capital flight which is not good for the Nigeria economic growth.

Mrs. Ologeh boasted that Nigeria has enough talents and professionals to handle any advertising production of international standard. Furthermore, she said that Nigeria film industry is the hub of content production in Africa and have produced contents that are showing on Netflix, Amazon and others. She further questioned what the crave for foreign artiste was all about.
EMCOAN which is led by Mrs. Jibe Ologeh will be hosting one of the biggest media content market exhibitions and award this August.

NEMCEA as the event is called stands for Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibitions and Award is a strategic Media content event which is planned to hold annually to bring together global stakeholders in the Media industry within and outside Nigeria to buy, sell, collaborate, aggregate, exchange ideas on content and also bring to fore issues and perspectives bordering on the media industry in Nigeria in particular and across Africa as a whole.
