A Tribute to Capt. Chris Najomo: A Transformational Leader in Aviation
By Micheal Achimugu
As I reflect on the remarkable achievements of Capt. Chris Najomo, the Ag. Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), I am convinced that the aviation industry will soon acknowledge the debt of gratitude it owes him. In just one year, Capt. Najomo has revolutionized the NCAA with his mantra of “Ease of Doing Business without Compromising Standards.”
His impact is immeasurable, and I am proud to celebrate his milestones and courage in taking on the challenges he inherited. The automation of processes, establishment of a flight data center, and rejuvenation of the Consumer Protection Department are just a few examples of his remarkable achievements.
Capt. Najomo’s leadership has also led to the launch of the DATR portal, payment of workers’ outstanding dues, and the historic signing of the IDERA, which has reduced corruption in aircraft inspections. His efforts have earned Nigeria an admirable score in the last audit, and his strategic approach to addressing high airfares is commendable.
As the aviation industry continues to evolve, Capt. Najomo’s vision and leadership will undoubtedly shape its future. I am honored to have work with him, and I join in congratulating him on his one-year anniversary as Ag. Director-General.
