FEDAN President Begins NACTAL Assignment with Anti-Trafficking Initiative in Abuja
ABUJA — The newly elected National Financial Secretary of the Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL), representing the Female Drivers Association of Nigeria (FEDAN), Amb. Eunice Odeghe has commenced her official assignment recently, with participation in a major initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of human trafficking survivors.
The official joined the NACTAL National President-Elect, Mr. Osita Osemene, and the North Central Zonal Coordinator at the launch and press conference of the “Voices Unchained – Trafficking Survivors Initiative,” held in Abuja on September 30, 2026.
The event brought together stakeholders committed to strengthening survivor-led advocacy and intensifying collective efforts to combat human trafficking, child abuse and exploitation in Nigeria.
Speaking on the assignment, the NACTAL National Financial Secretary described the opportunity to represent FEDAN at the event as a great privilege, particularly coming shortly after her election into the national leadership of NACTAL.
She expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve, pledging to contribute meaningfully to the network’s efforts to protect children, support survivors and promote stronger interventions against trafficking and exploitation.
The Voices Unchained initiative is expected to further provide a platform for trafficking survivors to share their experiences, influence advocacy efforts and contribute to policies and programmes designed to prevent trafficking and protect vulnerable persons.
The NACTAL leadership has continued to emphasise the importance of collaboration among government agencies, civil society organisations, survivor networks and other stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking in Nigeria.
