Heart Recovery Foundation Marks World Heart Day, Reaffirms Support for Patients

The Heart Recovery Foundation has commemorated the 2026 World Heart Day with a renewed commitment to supporting heart patients and promoting greater awareness of cardiovascular health in Nigeria.
The Foundation made this commitment on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Abuja, during activities to mark World Heart Day.
The event brought together patients of the Foundation and stakeholders, including the Founder of the Heart Recovery Foundation, Gilbert Kiaka; the Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mohammed Bulama; and the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Suleiman Haruna.
The gathering highlighted the challenges faced by people living with heart-related conditions and the need for sustained awareness, prevention and access to appropriate cardiovascular care.
The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting patients and contributing to efforts aimed at improving public understanding of heart health and cardiovascular diseases.
The participation of heart patients at the commemoration also underscored the human impact of cardiovascular conditions and the importance of providing support to individuals and families affected by heart disease.
The 2026 World Heart Day activities culminated in a group photograph featuring patients of the Foundation alongside Kiaka, Bulama and Haruna, reflecting the Foundation’s continued advocacy for improved heart health and patient support in Nigeria.
