NCC, Swedfund, Ookla Bring Digital Connectivity Investment Dialogue to Abuja

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Sweden’s development finance institution Swedfund and global connectivity intelligence firm Ookla are set to convene stakeholders in Abuja for a two-day forum focused on investment in Nigeria’s digital connectivity infrastructure.
The Nigeria Digital Connectivity Investment Forum, scheduled for September 29–30, 2026, is expected to attract policymakers, investors, development partners, technology companies and other key players in the digital economy.
According to the NCC’s official event calendar, the forum will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine investment opportunities, infrastructure requirements and strategies for expanding reliable and affordable digital connectivity across the country.
The engagement comes amid ongoing efforts to increase broadband access, promote digital inclusion and strengthen the infrastructure supporting Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
Swedfund is expected to contribute its development-finance and investment perspective to discussions on mobilising capital for connectivity projects, while Ookla will provide connectivity intelligence and network-performance data to help identify infrastructure needs and investment priorities.
Ookla has indicated that its representatives will participate in the forum, with discussions expected to highlight the role of independent connectivity data in guiding infrastructure investment and supporting Nigeria’s digital development.
Participants are also expected to consider existing investment gaps in the country’s connectivity infrastructure and explore practical measures for extending digital services to underserved communities.
The forum will further bring public and private-sector stakeholders together to examine how policy, investment and data-driven decision-making can be integrated to improve Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and expand access to digital services.
