Senator Imoke to Lead as APPMEN Invest Council of Patrons, Unveil 25 ‘Nigeria We Want’ Ambassadors in Abuja

The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishments of Nigeria (APPMEN) is set to invest its Council of Patrons and unveil 25 “The Nigeria We Want” Ambassadors at its 2026 Aso APPMEN/Content Creators 1-Day Conference in Abuja.
The conference, themed “Voice, Vision, Purpose,” will hold on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju Hall, VCN, beside the TETFund Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.
According to APPMEN, the event will bring together content creators, skit makers, influencers, comedians, journalists, bloggers, media proprietors and digital entrepreneurs from across the country.
A major focus of the conference will be practical strategies for recovering payments owed by major global digital platforms. The sub-theme is: “Practical Steps to Recover Monies Currently Outstanding, or Services Not Paid For, by Key Global Platforms.”
National Coordinator of APPMEN, Chief Precious Enebuse, said the conference was designed to move creators from complaints to practical solutions, particularly on monetisation and payment challenges.
He said Nigerian creators generate substantial value for global digital platforms but often encounter challenges arising from policy requirements, documentation and limited support.
The conference will feature the formal investiture of APPMEN’s Council of Patrons, comprising former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, CON, as Chairman; HRH Barr. Joel Sabo Aninge, PhD, MFR, Odyong Nyankpa II, as Grand Patron; and HRH Alh. Baba Umar Faruq II, CFR, Emir of Katagum, as National Patron.
The National Advisory Council, chaired by development expert Dr. Otive Igbuzor, will also be inaugurated.
25 ‘Nigeria We Want’ Ambassadors
Another highlight of the event is the unveiling of 25 distinguished Nigerians as “The Nigeria We Want Ambassadors.”
APPMEN said the honourees were selected in recognition of their contributions in areas including integrity, leadership and service to the nation.
The organisers described the initiative as part of their efforts to promote responsible citizenship and nation-building through the media and content-creation ecosystem.
The event is expected to have as Chairman of Occasion Amb. Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, National Chairman of PANDEF, while the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, is listed as Chief Guest of Honour.
Also expected is the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Dr. Aminu Maida, as Special Guest of Honour.
The Royal Father of the Day is His Royal Majesty Igwe Denis Okafor Ezeaniokaosisi II of Ovuria Kingdom.
The conference is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. Attendance is open to interested participants, although the organisers said seating would be limited.
