The Governor of Nasarawa State and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, on Thursday presided over the inaugural meeting of the APC National Campaign Council’s Media and Publicity Sub-Committee for the Osun State Governorship Election.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, brought together key party communicators ahead of the August 15, 2026 poll.
Also in attendance was the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, who serves as Secretary of the Sub-Committee, alongside other members of the panel.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the Sub-Committee said it reviewed and adopted what it described as a “robust media strategy” for the campaign.
According to the communique, the committee reaffirmed its commitment to an intensive publicity drive aimed at securing victory for the party and its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
The strategy, the committee said, will be anchored on “peaceful, issue-based, and democratic engagement” as the party seeks to reclaim Osun State.
The Media and Publicity Sub-Committee is one of 12 panels inaugurated under the APC’s 276-member National Campaign Council for the Osun election.
Governor Sule chairs the media panel, with Morka serving as secretary. Other members include Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Dele Alake, Sunday Dare, and Bayo Onanuga.
The overall council is chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and was formally inaugurated on July 28, 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
Party leaders have described the Osun contest as a key test of APC’s strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
AMBO, a former Osun Commissioner for Finance, emerged as the APC consensus candidate for the race. He will be facing incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party.
With the election scheduled for August 15, 2026, the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee said it will intensify voter education, counter misinformation, and amplify the party’s message across traditional and digital platforms.
The APC said the goal is to ensure “seamless coordination and effective execution of campaign activities” through all its specialized sub-committees.
