Uzodimma Rallies APC Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Victory

Abuja – Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has charged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council to give their best in ensuring the party secures victory in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.
Uzodimma, who chairs the National Campaign Council and is also Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, gave the charge during the inauguration of the Council and its sub-committees in Abuja, where the party unveiled its strategy to reclaim Osun State.
He urged members to remain committed to the task ahead, emphasizing the need for unity, discipline, and effective grassroots mobilisation to deliver victory for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
“We are here to firm up plans for grassroots mobilisation, operational planning, and campaign strategies aimed at securing victory for the party and our candidate,” Uzodimma said, urging members of the Council to put in their best efforts throughout the campaign.
The National Campaign Council has Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, as Secretary and comprises 276 members, including APC governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other party stakeholders.
The Council also has Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas as Co-Chairmen, while Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, serves as Deputy Chairman.
To strengthen campaign coordination, the APC constituted 12 specialised sub-committees covering election planning, finance, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, media and publicity, security, monitoring and compliance, protocol, youth mobilisation, women mobilisation, persons with disabilities mobilisation, and secretariat operations.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the Osun State governorship election for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The APC said the campaign structure is designed to ensure a disciplined, coordinated, and people-centred campaign, with members expected to immediately commence ward-to-ward mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, and voter sensitisation across the state ahead of the poll.
