The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has intensified its counter-terrorism campaign with a fresh wave of precision air strikes that destroyed a terrorist enclave at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.

The operation, carried out on 10 July 2026 by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, followed credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged in a series of precision strikes.

The air strikes reportedly destroyed key terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several insurgents, further weakening the group’s operational capabilities and restricting its ability to regroup.

The statement said the successful operation demonstrates the sustained pressure being mounted on terrorist elements through coordinated air offensives aimed at denying them freedom of movement and safe havens.
Meanwhile, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved in the mission for their professionalism and dedication.

He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining relentless offensive operations against terrorists and other threats to national security.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge. We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” the Air Chief said.

He added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain firmly on course in consolidating the significant gains already recorded in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.

The latest operation comes as the military continues to intensify coordinated air and ground offensives across the North-East in a bid to eliminate remaining terrorist strongholds and restore lasting peace to the region.
