Humanitarian Affairs Minister Meets UNOCHA Delegation Over Partnership on Poverty Reduction

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships aimed at supporting vulnerable Nigerians and reducing poverty across the country.
Dr. Doro stated this while receiving a delegation from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), led by Danielle Parry from the organisation’s headquarters, during a meeting held at the ministry’s conference room in Abuja on Thursday.

The minister said both the ministry and UNOCHA share a common goal of assisting vulnerable groups and addressing poverty-related challenges in Nigeria.

He appreciated the United Nations for its continued partnership and support, stressing that his guiding philosophy remains “Make a difference.”
According to him, the meeting was a follow-up engagement focused on deepening mutual understanding ahead of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that would strengthen collaboration between both parties in humanitarian interventions across Nigeria.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and developing a Memorandum of Understanding to support humanitarian services and poverty reduction initiatives in Nigeria.
