CAS Hails NAF Queens FC’s Runner-Up Finish at 2026 Federation Cup

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has commended the Nigerian Air Force Queens Football Club (NAF Queens FC) for their impressive runner-up finish at the 2026 Federation Cup, following a hard-fought final against Niger Rattle FC.

Receiving the team at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja, the CAS praised the players for their resilience, discipline, and professionalism throughout the tournament. He noted that their journey to the final highlights the growing strength and competitiveness of women’s football within the Service.“You have demonstrated courage, teamwork, and determination—values that define the Nigerian Air Force,” he said. “Reaching the final of such a prestigious competition reflects the effectiveness of our investment in sports development and personnel welfare.”

Air Marshal Aneke reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to supporting athletes, assuring the team of continued investment in talent development and the provision of resources necessary for excellence at both national and international levels.
Earlier, the Director of Sports, Group Captain Ademide Adeyeye, expressed gratitude to the CAS for his consistent support, noting that the morale boost and logistical backing significantly contributed to the team’s success.

The NAF Queens FC’s performance at the 2026 Federation Cup further strengthens the Nigerian Air Force’s reputation as a key driver of sports development in Nigeria, particularly in promoting women’s participation and achievement in football.
