APC Convention: Information Minister Sets Up Media Sub-Committee, Charges Members on Strategic Communication

ABUJA — The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Monday, 16th March, 2026, inaugurated the media and publicity sub-committee for the forthcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing the importance of effective and coordinated communication.
Idris, who co-chairs the committee alongside Tunde Rahman, charged members to deliver clear, consistent, and impactful messaging that reflects the party’s vision and activities.
He outlined the committee’s responsibilities to include ensuring accurate dissemination of information, promoting transparency, coordinating media engagements, and projecting both the process and outcomes of the convention to Nigerians and the international community.
Describing the assignment as critical, the minister said the committee’s role would be instrumental in shaping public perception and strengthening confidence in the convention process.
“Inaugurating this sub-committee for the 2026 National Convention of the APC marks a significant step in reinforcing the values of our great party,” Idris stated. “This convention represents a major milestone as we continue to deepen internal democracy and advance our vision for a united, prosperous, and progressive Nigeria.”
He added that the APC-led administration under Bola Ahmed Tinubu is pursuing bold reforms aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable growth and long-term national development.
