*NCF announces the departure of Head Coach, Steve Tikolo by mutual consent*
The Nigeria Cricket Federation today announces that Head Coach of the Senior Men’s National team and High-Performance Manager Steve Tikolo has left his position after almost 40 months on the job. The decision has been reached by mutual agreement between both parties.
Over the past 3 years, he was committed to developing talent, fostering teamwork, instilling discipline and contributed significantly to the growth and professionalism of the squad.
His tenure has also led to improved ICC T20 rankings of men’s team, from 42nd to 37th, and with Nigeria becoming a more dominant force in West Africa, and being more competitive against the higher ranked East African countries.
In his reaction to this development, President of the Federation Dr. Uyi Akpata] said:
“The Board and Management of NCF extend their sincere appreciation to Steve for his unwavering commitment and dedication over the past three years. His on field results have been outstanding. But it is the culture of discipline, had work, passion and dedication that will be long lasting.
Steve Tikolo also shared his appreciation, stating:
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with The Nigeria Cricket Federation and for the support I received from the players, staff, and management. I leave with positive memories, with great optimism that the team will continue to improve.
We wish Steve all the best in your his future endeavours.
