President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has urged the newly inaugurated officials to execute their duties with integrity, ensuring that meritocracy and fairness guide all federal appointments and projects, in line with the commission’s constitutional mandate.
Tinubu stated this during the swearing in of the New Chairman and Commissioners of Federal Character Commission (FCC), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu personally congratulated the new FCC Chairman, Hulayat Omidiran, highlighting her track record and leadership qualities as key to ensuring the commission fulfills its mandate. The FCC is tasked with promoting fairness in federal appointments, postings, and resource allocations among Nigeria’s diverse states and ethnic groups.
The swearing-in ceremony also featured the commissioners of the FCC, who pledged to uphold the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability in their new roles. President Tinubu emphasized that the commission would play a critical role in fostering national unity and balanced development.
