Bangladesh Seeks Nigeria’s Help for Expatriates’ Votes in Upcoming Elections

The Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria, H.E. Mr. Miah Md. Mainul Kabir, met with the Postmaster General/CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), discussing ways to strengthen relations between NIPOST and Bangladesh
The High Commissioner briefed the Postmaster General Engr. Tola Odeyemi, on Bangladesh’s initiative to allow expatriates to cast votes in the upcoming 13th Parliamentary election and referendum, seeking cooperation for Bangladeshi voters in Nigeria to exercise their franchise.
The Postmaster General assured the High Commissioner of NIPOST’s best possible cooperation, paving the way for expatriate Bangladeshis in Nigeria to participate in the electoral process.
The Bangladesh 13th Parliamentary election is upcoming on Thursday, February 12, 2026 and the country has introduced Out of Country Voting (OCV) for expatriates to cast votes in the election. The Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria has sought cooperation from Nigerian authorities to enable Bangladeshi voters in Nigeria to participate in the electoral process.
