ACOE Celebrates 3rd Anniversary, Calls for Strengthened Online Media for National Development

The Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE), marked its third anniversary on Tuesday, 25th November, 2025, at Àbuja with a call to strengthen online media for national development.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), emphasized the importance of online media in shaping narratives, fostering accountability, and driving national development. He cautioned that misinformation continues to inflame tensions nationwide, citing the November 2025 abduction of over 300 students and teachers in Niger State.

The event also featured the induction of new members, presentation of excellence awards, and goodwill messages from government institutions. ACOE Chairman, Mr. Shola Akinboloye, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to promoting professionalism, integrity, and national responsibility in online media.

Notable awardees included Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Director-General/CEO of NIMC, and FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, recognized for their transformative leadership in national identity transformation and road safety reforms, respectively.

The event, held at Abuja, brought together top government officials, media leaders, and national reformers.
