The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the media to promote national unity, youth empowerment, and accurate reportage of its activities. This was made clear during a courtesy visit by the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.
The NYSC Director-General, represented by the Director of Media, Mr Emeka Rems Mgbemena, emphasized the central role of communication in supporting the scheme’s mandate. He noted that constructive engagement and honest feedback from journalists are essential for institutional growth.
The ACOE Chairman, Comrade Sola Akingboye, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated the association’s desire to deepen partnerships with the NYSC. He commended NYSC’s cardinal objectives and praised the leadership of Director-General Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu for promoting transparency and youth welfare.
The visit ended with mutual assurances of continued cooperation as both institutions work towards shared objectives of youth development, national integration, and responsible journalism.
