The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released its weather outlook for July 26-28, 2025. Here’s a breakdown of the expected weather conditions:
Saturday, July 26, 2025
– Northern Region: Thunderstorms with light to moderate rains are expected in the morning over parts of Jigawa, Gombe, Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Kebbi, Bauchi, and Yobe states. Thunderstorms with moderate rains will occur in the afternoon/evening hours over the entire region.
– Central Region: Cloudy skies are anticipated with light to moderate rains over parts of Niger, Benue, Kogi, Plateau, FCT, and Nasarawa states.
– Southern Region: Cloudy skies are expected with light rains over parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom during the morning period. Light to moderate rains will occur over parts of Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states during the afternoon/evening hours.

– Northern Region: Sunny skies with patches of clouds are expected during the morning hours with prospects of thunderstorms with moderate rains over parts of Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba, Yobe, and Kaduna states.
– Central Region: Light to moderate rains are anticipated over parts of Nasarawa, Niger, Benue, FCT, and Plateau states.
– Southern Region: Cloudy skies are expected with chances of rains over parts of Cross River, Ebonyi, and Rivers states. Moderate to heavy rains are expected over parts of Imo, Enugu, Edo, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra, Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Delta states during the afternoon/evening periods.
Monday, July 28, 2025
– Northern Region: Sunny skies with patches of cloud are expected with prospects of morning thunderstorms with rains over parts of Borno and Sokoto states.
– Central Region: Cloudy skies are anticipated with chances of light rains over parts of Niger, FCT, Plateau, and Kogi states.
– Southern Region: There are prospects of morning rains over parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states. Moderate to heavy rains are expected over parts of Ebonyi, Abia, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Ondo, Ogun, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states during the afternoon/evening periods.

– Strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur.
