FG Offers 50% Discount on Transport Fares for Yuletide Season

Nigerians traveling for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations just got a wonderful gift from the Federal Government. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared a 50% discount on interstate transport fares for the Yuletide season .

To make this happen, the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with key transport stakeholders, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Association of Luxurious Bus of Nigeria (ALBON), and God is Good Motors (GIGM).

Starting immediately, passengers traveling from Abuja and Lagos (Oshodi) to other parts of Nigeria will pay only half the usual fare. This is a huge relief for many Nigerians who travel long distances to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones.

The Federal Government’s effort to provide affordable transportation during the Yuletide season is a welcome gesture, and many Nigerians are expected to take advantage of this offer.
