Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, National President of the APC-IGG, has extended heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Sen. George Akume, and Governor of Borno State Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, following the devastating flood that ravaged Maiduguri in Borno State on September 10, 2024.

The flood has left a trail of destruction, claiming lives and properties, and disrupting livelihoods. Ambassador Tsoken expressed deepest sympathies to the affected individuals and families, saying that the thoughts and prayers of the APC-IGG are with them during this difficult time.

As Vice President Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, is well aware of the challenges faced by the people of Maiduguri, having served as governor from 2011 to 2019 . His experience in handling crises, particularly the Boko Haram insurgency, will likely inform the federal government’s response to this disaster.

The APC-IGG’s message of commiseration comes at a time when the people of Borno State are struggling to come to terms with the extent of the damage. The flood has not only caused loss of life and property but also disrupted economic activities, leaving many without means of livelihood.

As the people of Borno State begin the process of recovery and rebuilding, they can draw strength from the outpouring of support from leaders and organizations across the country. Ambassador Tsoken’s message is a testament to the solidarity and compassion that defines Nigeria in times of crisis.
