“A Meeting of Minds: Minister of Transportation and MOFI CEO Discuss Key Issues”

In a significant meeting, the Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, welcomed the Managing Director/CEO of Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Dr. Armstrong Takang, to his office. The timely discussion came on the heels of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent visit, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the Ministry and MOFI.
Senator Alkali expressed his appreciation for the visit, emphasizing the Ministry’s readiness to work together. He underscored the priority of transportation in the current administration, citing President Tinubu’s directive to establish bus terminals in each geographical zone.
The Minister shared exciting developments, including Plateau and Borno State Governors’ interest in developing rail transport systems. He also highlighted the success of the rehabilitated Lagos-Kano freight service, which has had a multiplier effect.
Earlier the Managing Director of MOFI applauded Senator Alkali for the strides he has achieved in the Ministry of Transportation in one year.
He enumerated the areas of achievement in the Sector to include Railway Modernization in the entire country, Lagos Green Line Project commissioned by Mr President early this year, Lekki Deep Sea Port which expanded freight services and land transport.
As the discussion drew to a close, both leaders shared a sense of optimism, knowing that their collaboration would drive progress and growth. The stage was set for a new era of cooperation, with the Ministry of Transportation and MOFI working together to revolutionize Nigeria’s transportation sector.
