In a move to set the record straight, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) issued a statement regarding the recent court order affecting Arik Air. Contrary to rumors circulating in the media, the NCAA clarified that Arik Air’s overall operations had not been suspended.
The court order, which resulted from a Supreme Court decision, led to the attachment of three Arik Air aircraft (5NMJF, 5NMJQ, and 5NBKX). However, this did not impact the airline’s ability to operate its remaining fleet.
The NCAA emphasized its commitment to upholding regulatory and safety standards, ensuring that Arik Air’s flights continued uninterrupted. Passengers could breathe a sigh of relief as their travel plans remained unaffected.
Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection (DPA& CP), reassured the public that the NCAA was working closely with Arik Air to minimize disruptions. With the airline’s cooperation, the situation was being addressed with minimal impact on operations.
As Arik Air navigated this challenge, the NCAA’s clarification provided much-needed reassurance to the flying public. Flights continued as scheduled, and the airline’s dedication to safety and customer satisfaction remained unwavering.
