Women Affairs Ministry empowers female Entrepreneurs with grants, boosts Small Scale Businesses

In its commitment to promoting women’s economic empowerment, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has awarded members of the Mzough Kase u Tiv, Abuja Chapter, grants of N50,000 each to 20 female entrepreneurs in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja
The Honourable Minister, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, while presenting the grants in her office in Abuja, Monday, stated that the move was to boost small-scale businesses amongst women.
Represented by the Deputy Director, Women Development Department, Mr. Adamu Web, the Minister stated further that the initiative aims at upscaling the petty businesses of the beneficiaries, improve their contribution to their families’ upkeep while also enhancing the socio-economic growth and development of the nation.
With women constituting 49% of the country’s population, Kennedy-Ohanenye added, empowering them was imperative, especially in the promotion of a healthier living standard for the society.
She assured that the Ministry remains committed to promoting the cause of women, children, and the vulnerable, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Tiara Ujah assured that the grant will be invested into the small scale endeavours of the women so as to ensure the realization of its purpose.
She commended the Honourable Minister, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye as well as Management and Staff of the Ministry for their commitment to the upliftment of the lives of women, children and the vulnerable in society.
